Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: June 15, 2026Purpose
VennURL exists to make links more trustworthy. Don't use it to do the opposite.
VennURL's core purpose is transparency — helping people understand what's behind a link before they trust it. This policy describes uses that undermine that purpose or cause harm to others.
Prohibited use
Don't use VennURL for deception, harm, spam, or illegal activity.
You may not use VennURL to:
- Wrap phishing, scam, or malware links in a trustworthy-looking VennURL preview page
- Create VennURLs that misrepresent the destination or context of a link
- Distribute spam or unsolicited messages containing VennURLs
- Conduct automated scraping, crawling, or bulk operations without permission
- Impersonate another person, brand, or organization
- Violate any applicable local, national, or international law
- Harass, threaten, or harm other users
URL inspection misuse
Don't use the inspection tool to probe systems you don't own.
The URL inspection tool is for personal safety and trust verification. You may not use it to:
- Systematically probe or map third-party infrastructure
- Test security vulnerabilities in systems you don't own
- Generate excessive inspection requests to burden our systems
Enforcement
We can remove content and suspend accounts that violate this policy.
We may take any of the following actions for violations:
- Remove or deactivate specific VennURLs
- Suspend or terminate your account
- Report activity to law enforcement where legally required
We reserve the right to act on violations without prior notice when necessary to protect users or the platform.
