GDPR & Data Rights
Last updated: June 15, 2026Who this applies to
This page is for users in the European Economic Area, UK, and anywhere GDPR-equivalent law applies.
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) gives people in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom specific rights over their personal data. This page explains those rights and how VennURL honors them.
If you live outside the EEA or UK, your rights are described in our Privacy Policy.
Our legal basis for processing
We only process your data when we have a lawful reason to.
Under GDPR, we must have a legal basis for processing personal data. Ours are:
Contract performance
When you create an account, processing your name and email is necessary to provide the service you've signed up for.
Legitimate interests
We process usage data to keep the platform secure, prevent abuse, and improve the service. We've assessed that this doesn't override your privacy rights.
Consent
Where we send you marketing communications (if you've opted in), we rely on your consent. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Legal obligation
In some cases, we must retain or share data to comply with applicable law.
Your rights under GDPR
GDPR gives you eight rights. Here's what each one means for VennURL.
Right to access
You can request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.
Right to rectification
If your data is wrong or incomplete, you can ask us to correct it.
Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")
You can ask us to delete your personal data. We'll do so unless we're legally required to keep it.
Right to restrict processing
You can ask us to limit how we use your data while a dispute is being resolved.
Right to data portability
You can request your data in a structured, machine-readable format so you can transfer it elsewhere.
Right to object
You can object to our processing of your data where we rely on legitimate interests. We'll stop unless we have compelling grounds to continue.
Rights related to automated decisions
VennURL does not make automated decisions that significantly affect you. Our URL safety analysis is informational and does not make decisions on your behalf.
Right to withdraw consent
Where we process data based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting processing that already happened.

Asterverse Integrated Solutions and Allied Services Ltd. is the data controller for VennURL.
The data controller responsible for your personal data is:

International transfers
Your data may be processed outside the EEA. We take steps to protect it when it is.
VennURL is operated from Nigeria and uses cloud infrastructure that may process data in other countries, including the United States. When we transfer data outside the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable.
How to make a request
Email us. We respond within 30 days.
To exercise any of your GDPR rights, email privacy@vennurl.com with:
- Your name and email address
- The right you want to exercise
- Any relevant details
We'll respond within 30 days. In complex cases, we may extend this by an additional 60 days and will let you know.
We don't charge for requests unless they're clearly unfounded or excessive.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to your local authority.
If you believe we've handled your personal data incorrectly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority. In the UK, that's the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). In the EU, contact your national DPA.
We'd prefer to resolve concerns directly — email us first at privacy@vennurl.com.
