VennURL respects your privacy and collects only what it needs to work.

VennURL is a link trust and safety tool. To provide that service, we collect some information about how you use it. This policy explains exactly what that is, why we have it, and what we do with it.

What we collect

We collect account details when you sign up, URL data when you use the tool, and basic usage information to keep the service running.

If you create an account:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Authentication credentials (or your Google account reference if you use Google Sign-In)

When you use VennURL:

  • URLs you submit for inspection
  • Custom slugs, titles, and descriptions you create
  • QR code configurations

Automatically, when you use the service:

  • Browser type and version
  • Device category (desktop, mobile, tablet)
  • Operating system
  • Country-level location (not precise location)
  • Referrer URL (the page that sent you to VennURL)

When someone opens a VennURL you shared:

  • Timestamp of the visit
  • Device category and browser
  • Country

We do not store raw IP addresses in analytics. Where IP processing is necessary for security or abuse prevention, addresses are hashed or anonymized immediately.

How we use it

We use your information to run VennURL, keep it safe, and make it better. Nothing else.

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate VennURL and deliver its features
  • Inspect URLs and return safety analysis
  • Let you create and manage VennURLs and QR codes
  • Provide analytics for links you've shared
  • Prevent abuse and protect users
  • Send you service-related communications (not marketing, unless you opt in)
  • Improve the product based on how it's used

We do not use your information for advertising. We do not sell it.

Google API services

If you sign in with Google, we use only what we need to create your account. We follow Google's rules strictly.

VennURL uses Google OAuth to let you sign in with your Google account. When you do, we request access to your email address and basic profile information.

We use this only to:

  • Authenticate you
  • Create and maintain your VennURL account
  • Keep you logged in

We store your email address and a reference to your Google account identity. We do not share your Google data with third parties except as strictly necessary to run VennURL (for example, our database hosting provider). We do not use it for advertising.

VennURL's use of Google API data follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your data. We share it only when we have to.

We may share information with:

  • Service providers who help us run VennURL (hosting, database, email delivery). They process data only on our behalf and under confidentiality obligations.
  • Law enforcement or courts when legally required.
  • Fraud and abuse prevention systems when necessary to protect users.
  • Acquirers in the event of a merger or acquisition, under the same privacy obligations as this policy.

We do not sell personal information to anyone, ever.

How long we keep it

We keep your data only as long as we need it.

We retain your information for as long as:

  • Your account is active
  • We're required to by law
  • It's needed to resolve disputes or protect the platform

When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is legally required.

How we protect it

We use standard security practices. No system is perfectly secure, but we take it seriously.

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect your information — including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews.

No transmission or storage system is completely secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at .

Your rights

You can access, correct, or delete your information. Just ask.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct information that's wrong
  • Delete your information
  • Restrict or object to how we process it
  • Export your data in a portable format

Children

VennURL is not for children under 13.

VennURL is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. For significant changes, we'll notify you by email or a notice on the site. Continuing to use VennURL after an update means you accept the revised policy.
